Data Impact Icon  History
Data Impact's success began with ingenuity and innovation, a tradition that continues.

Data Impact was founded in 1988 as a developmental platform for what were then emerging optical technologies. The company was known at the time as CD-COM Systems, Inc. reflecting the medium to which computer output microfilm was written and delivered.

The principals of CD-COM Systems brought more than 50 years of experience in information management to the process of managing complex information streams. Their combined knowledge in optical technologies, imaging, and micrographics was unique, and led to innovative processes for which they were awarded a patent in 1997.

Technology changed rapidly. Both the media and the methods evolved constantly, and Data Impact continually led the way. We’ve grown to a position of leadership by turning client requests into development initiatives, and constantly incorporating the latest technology in ways that work. We do all our own development work, which lets us create the products we know clients want. Data Impact was founded on innovation, and continues to thrive on it.

In February, 2002, the company changed its name to Data Impact, reflecting its position as one of the premier entities in the ever-changing field of document capture and management.

In September, 2006, Data Impact acquired E-Tran, a pioneer in online payment processing. Combining the capabilities of both companies enabled Data Impact to build an industry-leading technology for electronic invoice presentment and payment.

Our client base includes companies in almost every major industry, including financial services, manufacturer, retail, distribution, education, and city and county government.
